California Municipal Public Finance Authority appoints Weist Law as Legal Counsel

California, United States – The California Municipal Public Finance Authority (CalMuni PFA) recently announced that it has appointed The Weist Law Firm (Weist Law) as Legal Counsel for the PFA. Citing growing demand for financings, a changing legal landscape, and the need for specialized legal services, the CalMuni PFA Board unanimously selected Weist Law.

CalMuni PFA, established in 2020 under the Joint Exercise of Powers Act, is a political subdivision of the State of California as a conduit for the California local government and private entities to issue tax-exempt and taxable financing obligations to finance community-based public benefit projects. CalMuni PFA was created by the Byron Bethany Irrigation District and the Independent Cities Finance Authority and serves as a conduit bond issuer for locally approved projects, including public infrastructure, healthcare, and educational facilities, as well as affordable housing.
